Transport Close to Shaw Tram Station

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm (30 min unpaid break per day)

Monday to Friday with the possibility of week-end working

Salary: £24,000 pa

Role Summary

As a Customs Clearing Officer, you will ensure smooth freight movements by preparing accurate documentation, managing customer queries and liaising with ports, authorities and existing clients, introducing them to our services and building strong business relationships.

This is an ideal opportunity for a confident, outgoing individual interested in operations, customer services and international logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and manage shipping documentation for all modes of freight.

Accurately maintain customs data, including Bill of Lading and Tariff headings.

Liaise with HMRC, Port Authorities, Shipping Lines, Hauliers etc.

Resolve client queries and provide timely, accurate updates.

Assist with regular Health & Safety and general office responsibilities as required.

Client Engagement & Lead Support

Follow up on existing leads and customer accounts.

Introduce Aerona services to prospective clients.

Support relationship building through calls, emails and online communication.

What Were Looking For

Experience using Sequioa, DataFrieght or similar customs software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong administrative and IT proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel etc).
Confident, proactive and eager to learn.
Organised with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
Minimum GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or C or equivalent.
Punctual and good timekeeper who is proactive, self-motivated and flexible with a mature approach to work.
