Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on GCC Unified Customs Law and UAE-specific customs regulations.
Provide strategic guidance on customs planning, classification, valuation, and origin rules.
Manage customs audits, disputes, and voluntary disclosures.
Develop trade facilitation strategies and advise on FTZ (Free Trade Zone), bonded warehousing, and transit regimes.
Conduct due diligence on customs implications in M&A and restructuring projects.
Liaise with UAE customs authorities and assist clients with obtaining customs rulings and approvals.
Mentor junior team members and lead client presentations and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, International Trade, or related field.
5-10 years of relevant experience in customs advisory, preferably with a Big 4 or international consulting firm.
Strong understanding of WTO customs valuation rules, HS code classification, and GCC customs systems.
Experience working with UAE Customs (Dubai Customs, Abu Dhabi, etc.) and/or regional authorities.
Customs Broker License or equivalent certification is a plus.

Skills

Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.
Client-focused with strong project management capabilities.
Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with customs software (e.g., Mirsal 2, Bayan) is preferred.
