What You Will Be Doing

The Global Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our international and domestic logistics operations. This critical role will strategically manage the movement, storage, and distribution of goods across our global supply chain, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of global logistics, customs regulations, and supply chain best practices.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Optimization

Develop and implement global logistics strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
Analyze logistics data to identify trends, optimize routes, consolidate shipments, and improve overall supply chain performance.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for logistics processes, technology, and vendor management.

Operations Management

Manage and oversee all international and domestic freight, including ocean, air, road, and rail transportation.
Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export laws.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, sales, production) and external partners (e.g., freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers) to ensure seamless logistics operations.
Oversee warehouse and distribution center operations, where applicable, to optimize storage and inventory flow.
Develop and implement contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.

Vendor & Relationship Management

Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers.
Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with logistics partners to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service.
Conduct regular performance reviews of logistics vendors.

Compliance & Risk Management

Stay current with global trade regulations, customs laws, and transportation safety standards.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to logistics operations, including natural disasters, geopolitical events, and carrier disruptions.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all international shipments.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the logistics function.

Budgeting & Reporting

Develop and manage the global logistics budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, key metrics, and areas for improvement to senior management.

You should have the following

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in global logistics management, with a strong focus on international freight and customs.
In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., Incoterms, HTS codes, customs valuation), import/export procedures, and compliance requirements.
Extensive experience shipping dangerous goods (Li-ion batteries) and export controlled materials (ITAR)
Proven experience negotiating and managing contracts with freight forwarders and carriers.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Oracle), and transportation management systems (TMS) including developing features specific to the logistics teams needs.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities

US Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.
