Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Leader
Work Location: Flexible – Ideally located within commuting distance from our Gort, Co.Galway site
As a TEAMMATE:
The
Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Leader is responsible for ensuring a consistently smooth and compliant movement of finished products, raw materials, and research products across international borders. This role will actively work to optimize and standardize processes that support our global operations teams with timely, efficient, and compliant deliveries allowing us to exceed the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.
What you’ll get to do in this role:
- Overseeing the execution of end-to-end logistics strategies, including freight negotiations; and contracting across all modes, including inbound and outbound
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create a reliable, agile network that ensures the best service and customer experience at the lowest total cost
- Ensuring alignment with supply chain stakeholders and processes
- Participating in monthly and quarterly reviews of logistics, which includes service, cost, governance, and related issues
- Act as the primary SME for North American trade compliance, ensuring that all shipments are conducted in compliance with international regulatory requirements
- Developing recommendations involving complex cost/benefit trade-offs that drive network solutions (number, location, and size of fulfillment facilities; outsourcing vs. in-house fulfillment and distribution; level of automation; and integrated systems solutions)
- Managing the development of logistics financial plans and budgets
- Develop, refine and manage key performance indicators to measure and improve critical aspects of logistics and adherence to trade compliance
- Deliver business solutions and continuous improvement initiatives which will add value to the Supply Chain function and the wider company
- Lead our global logistics and trade compliance team ensuring teammates are engaged and delivering against clear goals. Provide regular feedback and coaching to support high performance and ongoing career development
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the area of Global Logistics, preferably in medical device or pharma industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or other undergraduate degree plus continuing education in the logistics or extended supply chain management field required
- Experience in leading a team including setting expectations and performance evaluations
- Experience negotiating global freight contracts (inbound and outbound)
- Knowledge of global regulations related to logistics, such as import/export and customs, including security requirements (CTPAT and certification in dangerous goods handling and aviation security)
