Description
We are looking for a talented Lead Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team specializing in Global Trade for our businesses across UK and EU.
This role requires a 25% of domestic travel frequency and a 10% of international travel frequency.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Handling Customs Audits: You will ensure compliance with customs regulations by conducting thorough audits, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
- Customs Warehousing and Inward Processing: You will manage customs warehousing and inward processing operations, optimizing duty reclaims and ensuring accurate HS classification.
- Preferential Origin and Duty Management Systems: You will oversee preferential origin processes and duty management systems, maximizing benefits and minimizing costs.
- Broker Management: You will manage relationships with brokers, ensuring efficient and compliant handling of customs and trade operations.
- Trade Operations and Compliance: You will maintain a strong understanding of local laws and regulations, communicate changes to business units, and monitor import/export activities to ensure compliance.
- Process Improvements: You will contribute to process improvements, providing guidance and direction on compliance issues, and developing new processes for efficient operations.
- Building Relationships: You will build and maintain strong relationships with governmental organizations, ensuring ongoing compliance and support for business needs.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions during customs audits and duty reclaims.
- In-depth Knowledge of Customs Regulations: Comprehensive understanding of customs warehousing, inward processing, HS classification, and preferential origin processes to ensure compliance and optimize operations.
- Effective Communication and Relationship Management: Skills to manage broker relationships, communicate regulatory changes, and build strong connections with governmental organizations.
- Attention to Detail and Process Improvement: Keen eye for detail to review applications, monitor import/export activities, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
- College, university, or equivalent degree or equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience preferred.
