We are offering long-term contract employment opportunity for a Trade Compliance role in the manufacturing industry, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role involves using a range of systems including Microsoft Excel, SAP, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule among others.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure that the company is exceeding requirements related to trade laws, agreements, and sanctions.
· Accurately and proactively audit import/export processes to ensure compliance with up-to-date customs regulations and trade agreements.
· Coordinate periodic internal and external audits globally. Establish and implement corrective/preventive actions to continually improve performance.
· Effectively collaborate with logistics, quality, customer service, and sales, to resolve trade compliance issues and mitigate risks.
· Apply for and manage all export-import licensing.
· Lead and coordinate activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including ITAR, EAR99, specially designed, and ECCN product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, ACE reporting, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening.
· Proactively monitor, interpret, and communicate environmental regulations to ensure all company processes and activities align with applicable laws at all times.
· Lead and coordinate the development, review company position statements and policies on areas such as product content, component content, and export control.
· Assist the company in preparing, submitting, tracking, and monitor licensing, certificate of origin documentation and any special permit required for importing of supplies.
· Work with Commerce & State Jurisdiction, classifications and USG policy related to technology and international relations.
Requirements:
· 2+ years in a Trade Compliance Specialist or similar role
· Proven knowledge of Harmonized Tarriff Schedule (HTS) codes and ECCN product classifications.
· Previous experience with denied party screenings, country of origin requests, Government Contracting requests for Representations and Certifications, etc.
· Competent and proficient with all Microsoft applications, ERP systems, and an ability to learn more.
· General knowledge of both import and export compliance and regulations, with an emphasis on exports.
