As a Global Trade Compliance and Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing international trade compliance and ensuring the efficient, cost-effective movement of goods across all transportation modes. You'll help minimize global trade risks, ensure adherence to import/export laws, and drive logistics efficiency. We're looking for someone with strong import/export compliance experience, solid logistics management skills, and a deep understanding of global trade and transportation regulations. - Compliance Oversight
- Develop and implement import and export compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. and international trade laws, regulations, and sanctions programs.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Transportation Coordination
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Arrange transportation services via trucking companies, freight forwarders, airlines, and shipping lines using global carriers.
- Vendor Management
- Negotiate contracts and rates with transportation providers and logistics partners.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve any issues related to transportation services.
- Logistics Optimization
- Optimize freight routes and shipment schedules to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Implement strategies to reduce transportation lead times and improve delivery reliability.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping
- Manage the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of import/export documentation and records.
- Ensure all required permits, licenses, certifications, and declarations are obtained and maintained.
- Ensure all transportation documents, including bills of lading and customs paperwork, are accurate and compliant.
- Stay updated on transportation regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., DOT regulations).
- Training and Education
- Provide training to employees on import/export compliance requirements and best practices.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Risk Management
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with import/export activities and freight transportation, including delays, damages, or regulatory issues.
- Implement contingency plans to address transportation disruptions or emergencies.
- Establish internal controls to prevent compliance violations and potential penalties.
- Cost Control and Budgeting
- Monitor transportation expenses and analyze budget variances.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Performance Reporting
- Generate transportation performance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with supply chain, logistics, legal, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment on compliance matters.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving compliance-related issues.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in import/export compliance operations.
- Implement systems or tools to streamline compliance processes and enhance accuracy
Your qualifications, your influence:
To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export compliance, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, OFAC) and international trade practices.
- 3–5 years of experience in freight transportation or logistics management.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.
Preferred skills and technical familiarity:

- Certification in Trade Compliance (e.g., Certified Global Business Professional, Certified Customs Specialist).
- Experience with import/export compliance software and tools.
- Multilingual proficiency, especially in languages relevant to global trade.
