The Opportunity
A growing logistics firm in Cork is hiring an experienced Operations Manager to take the reins of a busy multi-modal freight operation. This newly created role reflects rapid local expansion and offers the chance to shape operational performance and team culture from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day freight forwarding across road, customs and client services
- Lead a team of 5 operators, ensuring excellence in execution and communication
- Drive service quality, compliance and operational efficiency
- Own key documentation processes: customs, billing, shipping, invoicing
- Build strong relationships with carriers, suppliers and clients
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (Sales, Warehouse, Finance)
- Support P&L performance monitoring with the finance lead
- Enable continuous improvement and team development through active coaching
Skills you must have to apply
- 2+ years in freight operations leadership or team management
- Strong background in logistics, groupage, or deep-sea / air freight forwarding
- Natural communicator with proven client-handling and leadership ability
- Experience driving change, managing KPIs and working across departments
