Wisk is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an entry-level Trade Control Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or individual with a foundational understanding of international trade to begin a career in the dynamic and critical field of trade compliance. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that our import and export activities adhere to all applicable regulations and contribute directly to the company's success in the global marketplace.
This is a
hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
In this role you will work under the guidance of the Trade Control Manager and the Legal Department to support the daily operations of the trade control group. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation and review of import and export documentation, maintaining accurate records, and conducting data entry and analysis related to trade activities. This position offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles of trade compliance in aerospace, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
What You Will Do
- Support determinations of export licensing or authorization requirements and assist with preparing and managing authorization documentation.
- Track licensing programs and interface with stakeholders to provide pre and post licensing status and guidance.
- Help monitor and track the status of import and export authorizations.
- Assist with storing and managing jurisdictional and classification determinations.
- Support the classification of goods and technology according to the Export Administration Regulations Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), and other relevant classification systems.
- Aid in the screening of customers, suppliers, and other business partners against restricted party lists.
- Assist with development of import/export control guidance and training materials.
- Help identify, analyze and report issues and assist with developing solutions for complex trade compliance matters.
- Assist with internal audits of trade compliance processes and documentation.
- Respond to routine inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding trade compliance procedures.
- Stay informed about basic principles of U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Perform other administrative and support duties as assigned by the Trade Compliance Manager.
- Track and execute long term projects and efforts related to trade compliance.
- Support other efforts on behalf of the trade control group and global trade control compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of experience in a business, legal, or administrative environment. Direct experience in trade control, logistics, shipping/receiving, or a related area is a plus.
- A keen interest in building a career in trade compliance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work product.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex cases with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail). Experience with trade compliance software and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or a “U.S. Person,” as defined under U.S. export control laws and regulations (EAR Part 772 and ITAR Part 120), to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations.
- A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical stakeholders are essential.
- A deep understanding that the trade control group’s focus is to enable the business's success through compliant every day processes.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $84,282 - $99,155 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
