This is an exciting opportunity with one of our esteemed clients, a 30-year-old leading Shipping, Freight Forwarding, and Logistics company based in Dubai, known for its strong global presence and commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and commercially aware quotations to sales staff, clients, branches, and the extended company's Network on a cross-trade basis.
- Ensure quotations reflect the best pricing opportunities while maximizing commercial value.
- Negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines and follow up on space confirmations in China and other countries.
- Handle pricing inquiries from overseas sales teams, branches, customers, and network partners efficiently.
- Coordinate with agents and customers, providing complete updates on their shipments.
- Procure buy rates when required to enable shipments and provide operations with routing, carrier information, and contract details.
- Maintain and update relevant customer & prospect contact activities in a customer relation Management database system
- Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing & tactics and communicate this to the relevant manager in Head Office.
- Frequently monitor and report commercial activities to the Sales Manager and General Manager in Head Office.
- Identify and resolve customer concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualification / Skills / Experience
- Should have bachelor’s degree / relevant qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cross trade shipping activities.
- Must be from freight forwarding / shipping industry.
- Proven experience in cross-trade or international freight pricing at a similar level.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver competitive pricing solutions.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal and external teams.
- Proficient in CRM systems and quotation tools.
- Good communication skills with customers and shipping lines.
- Experience in planning & executing commercial activities
- Experience in obtaining quotes from shipping lines, especially from China.
