This position can be remote in either PA, SC, or GA. We have facilities in those locations so travel will be involved even though the position is remote. If based in PA then you would possibly travel to our sites in GA and SC (and vice versa).

We’re seeking a detail-driven and proactive International Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Supply Chain team in McElhattan, PA.
Position Overview
The International Trade Compliance Specialist ensures that all import and export activities comply with applicable U.S. and international trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and partner government agency requirements. This role oversees global logistics, customs documentation, and compliance processes to minimize risk, control costs, and ensure on-time delivery of raw materials, machinery, components, and finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage import/export operations for raw materials, parts, machinery, and finished goods aligned with production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade laws, customs regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
- Prepare, verify, and maintain all customs and shipping documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.).
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PL partners for timely, cost-effective global shipments.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, quality, legal, and product development teams to assess trade implications of new products and markets.
- Monitor shipments and resolve customs or logistics issues proactively.
- Optimize transportation costs and logistics performance through vendor negotiations and process improvements.
- Obtain and manage required import/export licenses, permits, customs bonds, and powers of attorney.
- Stay current on tariffs, sanctions, and global trade compliance requirements.
- Maintain compliance records and support internal and external audits.
- Develop and deliver training on trade compliance policies and best practices.
- Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.
- Build and manage international partner relationships to support the company’s operational needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in import/export operations, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Licensed Customs Broker (required).
- Certified International Trade Professional and/or Certified Export Specialist (CES) preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Incoterms, HTS classification, and global trade regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while staying calm under pressure.
