Customs Administrator - The Vault Distribution Centre
Shift Pattern: 5 days in 7 on a rota basis. This will include weekends and bank holidays due to business demands.

We’re looking for a detail orientated Customs Administrator to join our Distribution Centre in Speke.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in a key operational area, which plays a vital role in keeping over 750 stores stocked and ready to serve our 4 million customers every week.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Customs Administrator, you will be providing administration support to our Customs team. Your day to day will involve liaising with external partners to ensure shipments to Northern Ireland pass all the relevant checks and all paperwork meets international law.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Working 5 days out of 7 (you may be required to work over your contracted hours in line with the needs of the business)
- Covering NI shipments on weekends (Sundays with occasional Saturdays) on a 1 in 3 rotation basis
- Communicating with the Warehouse and Maxwell Freight daily to ensure a daily schedule can be accurately created and shared
- Communicating the planned number of exports for the day to Supply Chain no later than 08:30am daily
- Creating the daily NI Schedule, no later than 09:00am daily
- Updating and maintaining the central NI Tracker
- Post Schedule and updates into the NI Group on Teams
- Ensuring Northern Irish shipments are processed timeously, accurately and compliantly via internal and HMRC IT systems.
- Supporting the team to ensure full accuracy of all declarations completed
- Follow up declarations with all stakeholders until customs clearance is obtained
- Submission of arrival seal photo’s to DAERA
- Managing data and producing reports using Microsoft Excel
- Completion and maintaining of staff training documents/PDF
- Maintaining customs records
- Completion of Supplementary Declarations
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who has exceptional attention to detail, whilst working in a fast-paced environment. To minimise delays in shipments reaching our stores, and therefore impacting on our customers, all our documentation needs to be 100% accurate at the first time of asking.
You’ll Need To Have
- Strong administration experience
- Good level of maths (Minimum C/Grade 4 at GCSE) as calculations are required for this role
- Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy level whilst under pressure
- Highly organised
- Knowledge of HMRC systems is desirable, but not essential.
