Role Overview
In a commercial organisation which thrives on international import and exports, the Customs Administrator is central to the company's logistical operations.
He/sheis Responsible For Assisting The Customs Manager With
- All aspects of import/export Customs clearance (VAT, tariffs and reporting)
- Preparation of all relevant import/export documentation
- Oversight of all third-party customs related activities (clearing agents and freight forwarders)
The position requires a hands-on approach and relevant experience in a similar role. It is demanding and requires someone with the ability and a desire to operate in a fast-paced environment. in return, the candidate can expect a challenging and rewarding career.
The Person
- Experience using Descartes / CDS (advantageous, training provided)
- Experience of HMRC customs clearance and compliance (essential)
- Experience of European customs clearance and compliance (highly desirable)
- Previous logistics experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, (both written and spoken English) and good telephone manners are crucial.
- Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft platforms).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Experience following all tasks through to completion.
- Demonstrate acute attention to detail.
- Previous experience of operating successfully in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
