A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to build and lead its international customs and trade compliance function. This role will define global processes, governance, and operational standards supporting multiple regions and business units.
Responsibilities for the Global Trade Compliance Manager:
- Develop and implement a unified global customs and trade compliance program.
- Establish governance frameworks, standard operating procedures, and audit mechanisms across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
- Lead global compliance operations including HTS classification, country of origin rules, FTA eligibility, denied party screening, and documentation accuracy.
- Conduct annual reviews of classifications, documentation, and compliance processes.
- Develop and deliver global training programs and internal compliance guidelines.
- Partner with warehousing, manufacturing, IT, procurement, supply chain, and external brokers/3PLs to ensure operational alignment.
- Analyze transactional trade data to identify risks, trends, and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Utilize scorecards and KPIs to measure program performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare and deliver compliance reports; escalate issues with external partners as needed.
Requirements for the Global Trade Compliance Manager:
- 10+ years of global customs and trade compliance experience in manufacturing or a similarly regulated industry.
- Proven experience building compliance programs and governance frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of customs regulations across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.
- Strong expertise in HTS classification, Free Trade Agreements, country of origin rules, and import/export regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Licensed Customs Broker certification (preferred).
- Experience with SAP or APO systems and familiarity with ethical supplier compliance.
