Customs Support Operator
London Heathrow
Mon-Fri 9:00-17:30
We are recruiting for a Customs Support Operator to join our team in London Heathrow. You will be responsible for carrying out pre-import documentation checks to ensure shipments meet UK import requirements before being approved to move. The role focuses on verifying invoices and direct representation forms and coordinating with origin offices to correct any documentation issues.
What will you be doing?
- Review and verify commercial invoices for accuracy and compliance prior to shipment entry into the UK
- Check direct representation forms to ensure they are valid, current, and correctly completed
- Approve shipments to proceed only once all required documentation is correct
- Liaise with origin branches and overseas offices to request document corrections or amendments
- Follow up on missing, incorrect, or outdated documentation to prevent import delays
- Maintain accurate records of documentation checks and approvals
- Support the customs clearance team by ensuring all pre-arrival checks are completed in line with internal procedures
- Adhere to company compliance standards and UK import requirements
About You
- Strong attention to detail and document-checking accuracy
- Good understanding of UK import documentation requirements
- Clear and professional written communication with overseas teams
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
- Methodical, organised, and compliance-focused
