Biocomposites is an international medical devices company that engineers, manufactures, and markets world leading products for use in infection management in bone and soft tissue. Based in Keele, UK, it has global operations across Europe, USA, Argentina, Canada, China, and India. Biocomposites is a world leader in the development of innovative calcium compounds and bone cements for surgical use. Its products regenerate bone and target infection risks across a variety of specialties, including musculoskeletal infection, orthopaedics, trauma, spine, foot and ankle, podiatry, and sports injuries. Biocomposites products are now used in over one million procedures per annum and sold in more than 100 countries around the world.
To manage and oversee all matters related to foreign trade, import and export activities and ensuring compliance with government trade regulations. The scope of this relates to the movement of both finished goods and raw materials.
Role Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain standard procedures and processes for exporting goods outside of the UK.
- Primary point of contact for Customer Service Associates and Chamber of Commerce enquiries.
- Provide advice and guidance on plans to export into new markets e.g. direct supply chain.
- Liaise closely with Regulatory team for continual awareness of changes within countries / territories.
- Support business continuity in terms of cover for Customer Service Associates.
- Continual improvements on export documentation and automation within the ERP system.
- Understand customs special procedures.
- Provide support to the business’ Carbon Reduction Plan through CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) Compliance.
- Attend trade shows affiliated with the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade for networking opportunities.
- Trainer for export documentation, internal procedures and processes for supplying goods outside of the UK.
Required Experience:
- BCC Foundation Award
- Deep knowledge of import/export laws
- 3+ years’ experience of using ERP systems
- Excellent analytical / communication skills
