The LHH is seeking a Director of Logistics for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near South Bend, Indiana. This is a high-impact, corporate role in a growth-oriented environment that values practical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable program design. You’ll shape the logistics ecosystem—trade compliance, customs, carrier strategy, and systems—while partnering with decentralized business units to drive sustainable results. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $160,000–190,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and medical insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create the logistics strategy that ensures alignment to business goals and customer commitments.
- Lead the trade compliance program and governance across import and export activities.
- Manage carrier strategy and negotiate LTL, truckload, and parcel contracts, including accessorials.
- Optimize enterprise TMS utilization, standards, and onboarding across business units.
- Establish and update import compliance manuals, policies, and training.
- Build dashboards and scorecards to monitor cost, service, and compliance performance.
- Partner with decentralized teams; advise on complex domestic and international shipments.
- Lead annual freight RFP/RFQ cycles and mitigate GRI/CPI cost impacts.
- Maintain broker relationships; oversee HTS classification guidance and documentation standards.
- Standardize data, processes, and integrations to enable scalable logistics programs.
- Support outbound network design, routing strategies, and technology adoption initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements; coordinate audits and corrective actions.
- Promote relationship-driven change; avoid disruptive initiatives without context.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or International Business is preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of logistics management experience within a manufacturing organization is required.
- Must have 5+ years of hands-on experience with trade compliance, including handling CF code responses and governance.
- Must have previous experience successfully negotiating LTL, truckload, and parcel contracts.
- Preference toward candidates who possess a Customs Broker License.
- Ideal candidates will have experience with HTS classification guidance and broker management.
- Ideal candidates will have experience with enterprise TMS optimization and multi-site onboarding.
- Ideal candidates will have the ability to lead annual freight RFP/RFQ cycles.
- Familiarity with domestic and international shipping documentation, forms, and recordkeeping standards.
