Company’s Global Supply Chain Transportation and Customs team has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Customs & Trade Operations Manager US & CA in the Nashville/Franklin area. You will be leading a team of customs and trade operations professionals that proactively work with the business to provide strategic Customs guidance in support of business objectives/programs while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies and procedures. This position will partner closely with our larger global supply chain organization, import compliance, export center of excellence, global customs operations staff and our customs brokers focusing on continuous improvement.
This role reports to the NAM Global Supply Chain Customs Director and works alongside a team of transportation and customs operations management.
Role Responsibilities:
• Lead strategic planning and execution of customs initiatives across US & Canada.
• Manage root cause analysis for clearance issues and implement corrective actions with brokers and partners.
• Serve as the point of contact for freight forwarders, CBP, PGAs, and internal stakeholders.
• Act as relationship owner with Trade Services Provider for drawback, PSCs, audits, and classification.
• Oversee duty mitigation, compliance programs, and trade governance.
• Define requirements for customs related IT and automation initiatives.
• Ensure regional regulatory changes are incorporated into processes and systems.
• Present plans, metrics, and updates to senior leadership.
• Lead a team of import/export specialists and support daily problem resolution.
• Administer FTZ operations, ACE reporting, and portal management.
• Respond to CF28/29s, audits, and other CBP information requests.
• Oversee Denied Party Screening and support sustainability initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
• 7+ years of import/export and global trade compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HTS, valuation, FTAs, export controls (ITAR/EAR), and PGA requirements (FDA, EPA, DDTC, etc.) as well as ACE portal and reporting.
• Familiar with Other Government Agency requirements, Free Trade Agreements and CBP processes, U.S. Government export regulations to generate compliant export declaration filings (EEI filings)/import declaration filings.
