Midea Logistic Indonesia/ ISCC is seeking a Customs Manager to oversee import and export customs clearance in Indonesia, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and cost control. This role supports smooth supply chain operations and works closely with authorities, internal teams, and external partners to manage customs processes and resolve issues.
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end import and export customs clearance for general trade in Indonesia, ensuring efficiency, compliance, cost control, and smooth production supply chain operations.
• Apply Indonesian customs classification rules and accurately assign HS codes for manufacturing goods to avoid fines, cargo detention, and ensure compliance.
• Utilize Indonesia Free Trade Agreements and rules of origin to provide business advice—especially for production order transfers—to avoid tariff losses and trade barriers.
• Establish and implement customs compliance systems, monitor policy updates, develop processes aligned with Chinese-funded manufacturing standards, and handle audits, inspections, and clearance issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC), government agencies, and suppliers; optimize clearance resources and handle inspections, appeals, and other abnormalities to ensure timely clearance.
• Develop SOPs and standards, deliver internal compliance training, and manage customs brokers and freight forwarders by evaluating service quality, compliance, and optimizing cooperation.
• Analyze customs data regularly, optimize declaration strategies, leverage free trade agreements and tax policies (reductions/exemptions) to reduce tax burden, and support internal audits and customs inspections.
Requirements:
• Indonesian citizen with a bachelor’s degree or above; background in international trade, logistics, or customs preferred; familiar with Indonesian policies and manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5 years of customs experience in Indonesia, including 3+ years in management; experience in Chinese-funded manufacturing companies preferred; PPJK license is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian customs processes, including classification, Certificate of Origin (CoO), and compliance requirements; experienced in handling complex customs issues independently.
• Proficient in Indonesian customs systems; good English skills; able to communicate with Chinese management; basic Chinese is a plus.
• Strong coordination, risk control, attention to detail, responsibility, professional ethics, and adaptability to Chinese company management style.
• Team management experience, capable of training employees, improving processes, and leading the team to deliver efficient customs operations.
• Strong data analysis skills to identify issues and optimize strategies; experience in manufacturing customs data management preferred.
