The Logistics Specialist will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in logistics and warehousing, playing a pivotal role in the design, setup, and operationalization of a state-of-the-art aircraft engine MRO facility,
This role combines hands-on operational execution with strategic input into warehouse design, material flow, and logistics processes, ensuring full compliance with aviation regulations while enabling efficient, scalable MRO operations.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in building logistics capabilities from the ground up, including warehouse layout, systems, inventory strategy, and end-to-end material flow.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Warehouse Setup (Greenfield Facility)
- Act as SME to support design and implementation of warehouse and logistics infrastructure for a new MRO facility.
- Define warehouse layout, storage solutions, zoning (quarantine, serviceable, unserviceable, hazardous materials), and material flow.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Support selection and implementation of ERP/WMS systems and digital logistics tools.
- Contribute to facility readiness planning including equipment selection (racking, handling equipment, tooling storage).
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement best-in-class warehouse and logistics processes to support MRO operations.
- Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in lead time, cost efficiency, and service levels.
- Develop KPIs for logistics performance (turnaround time, inventory accuracy, OTIF delivery).
- Support digitalization initiatives and automation where applicable.
Inventory & Material Management
- Oversee inventory control for aircraft engine parts, components, tooling, and consumables.
- Ensure optimal stock levels, traceability, and compliance with aviation standards.
- Implement inventory classification, min/max levels, and demand forecasting aligned with maintenance schedules.
- Conduct audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in aviation logistics, preferably within engine MRO or aerospace environment.
- Proven experience in warehouse setup, transformation, or greenfield projects.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft parts handling, storage conditions, and regulatory compliance.
