We are seeking an experienced Import/Export Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Danube Building Materials - UAE. The successful candidate will play a vital role in coordinating and managing end-to-end shipments, from booking to delivery, across various modes of transport. They will be responsible for preparing and processing all necessary documentation, coordinating with external partners, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage import/export shipments by sea, air, and land, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Prepare, review, and process shipping and customs documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Bills of Lading/Airway Bills.
- Collaborate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for shipment booking and customs clearance.
- Monitor and control logistics costs, including freight, customs duty, and transportation charges.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to stakeholders, monitoring ETD, ETA, and delivery schedules.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth shipment execution and timely availability of documents.
- Obtain and evaluate freight quotations, coordinating with service providers for cost-effective logistics.
- Proactively resolve shipment delays, customs queries, and operational issues with internal and external partners.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, customs documents, and prepare periodic import/export reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in import/export coordination or a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of customs regulations and import/export procedures in the UAE.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to adapt to changing logistics industry trends and regulations.
- Fluent in English, with additional language skills being an advantage.
