The main responsibilities of the NAM Customs manager will be the following
Customs management and trade optimization
• Own the local customs risk management framework, including risk taxonomy, assessment criteria, thresholds, and classification principles;
• Identify, assess, and consolidate customs risk exposures (classification, origin, valuation, FTA eligibility), challenging regional stakeholders and driving mitigation actions;
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of customs controls, ensuring effectiveness across entry processes, broker activities, and internal governance
Customs policies and governance framework
• Define, own, and continuously evolve the customs compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and internal control standards aligned with global requirements as well as local legislation
Compliance goverance and operational oversight
• Ensure full compliance with local customs regulations across classification, origin, valuation, and trade program requirements;
• Oversee customs execution quality, including entry accuracy, broker performance, validation controls, and reconciliation processes
Digital transformation and technology enablement
• Define and own functional local requirements and governance for customs digital tools (e.g., classification engines, trade management systems, dashboards, and analytics platforms);
• Drive adoption of data-driven customs processes, ensuring transparency, standardization, and scalability across the region
Regulatory management, monitoring the Customs policies evolutions and changes,anticipating the implication for the Company
• Act as primary liaison with customs authorities, managing audits, reviews, inquiries, and negotiation of corrective action plans;
• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, assessing impact on operations and ensuring timely and consistent implementation
Team leadership and organizational capability
• Accountable for building and developing regional customs capabilities, ensuring alignment with Group standards, compliance culture, and business needs;
• Lead, coach, and develop team members (where applicable), fostering technical expertise, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset
