About the Role

This position plays a critical role in safeguarding and optimizing international trade activities across North America. The Trade Compliance Manager will own import and export compliance programs, ensuring regulatory alignment while identifying cost-saving opportunities. You'll collaborate closely with internal departments and external partners to manage classification, valuation, documentation, audits, and FTA claims. This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, and relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all import/export compliance operations across the North American region
Maintain and update compliance manuals, SOPs, and internal controls
Lead relationships with brokers and forwarders; conduct performance reviews and audits
Analyze and optimize FTA eligibility, tariff classifications, and duty recovery programs
Conduct internal compliance audits and report risk and improvement actions to leadership
Train internal stakeholders on customs regulations, documentation, and systems
Monitor and communicate updates in global trade regulations and tariff schedules
Coordinate with local/global trade compliance teams to align best practices

Candidate Requirements

Licensed U.S. Customs Broker – mandatory
5–7+ years’ experience in international trade compliance
Deep knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and HTS classification
Experience with SAP S/4 Hana, GTS, or similar systems
Familiarity with NAFTA/USMCA, BIS regulations, and CBP recordkeeping
Based in or willing to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area (relocation support available)
Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams
