Our client is one of the leading distributors of agricultural machinery in Ireland. Based in Dublin, this client imports, assembles, and distributes machinery through a network of 40 independent dealers. They also own and operate a separate division that sell a wide range of fast-moving parts for all makes of tractors and agricultural machinery. They distribute to a network of over 400 dealers throughout Ireland, north and south. It is within this department that they have this vacancy.
Your new role
Due to huge growth in the company over the past 10 years our client is dealing with more global suppliers than ever before! Their catalogue of products has expanded, and are continually sourcing new items to expand the range. Due to this increased growth we are seeking a Product Sourcing Coordinator to join their team.
Job Specifications:
- Sourcing new and replacement parts from current suppliers
- Sourcing products from new suppliers, continually improving on quality, costs and delivery.
- Maintaining good relationships with all suppliers to ensure clear communications.
- Negotiating with current Suppliers, communicating with them on orders, new products and deliveries ensuring the Company gets the best value and delivery agreements at all times.
- Liaising with supplier checking agents ensuring that this process runs smoothly, dealing with any issues that arise.
- Pro-active relationship with colleagues and suppliers in relation to product pricing, availability, and forecasting
- Analysing sales trends and figures, ensuring that buying habits are in line with this.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and consistent manner on product specs, measurements etc.
- Dealing with large amounts of information and able to deal with follow ups and confirmations.
- Liaising with Warehouse Manager on new products and deliveries.
- Liaising with marketing and webshop administrator to ensure all products are up to date and advertised correctly.
- Manage and have a clear understanding of international shipping rules, dealing with all the necessary paperwork related to customs, excise, and VAT duties.
- Liaising with the sales team, conducting product research, market trends and product specs.
- Support and liaise with other departments to resolve queries/issues
- Responsibility and commitment to keeping up with industry changes and trends, proactively seeking information when required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven track record of working in a busy sourcing or purchasing environment preferably in an Agri related parts industry
- Experience of agricultural parts or machinery sector would be a big advantage
- Experience of international sourcing and purchasing procedures.
- Extremely organised and methodical
- Driven by processes
- Skilled in price negotiations and chasing Suppliers for information
- Willingness to learn, and grow with the company
- Proactive approach to work, acting on own initiative where possible.
- Proven ability to work independently
- Ability to build and maintain Supplier relationships.
- Good attention to detail and highly accurate.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and with large volume of workloads
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills with confidence to deal with difficult situations
- Ability to get on with different people and departments whose priorities may not be the same as yours.
- Supply chain management or Purchasing management qualification would be an advantage
- Experience using CAD or other forms of drawing software an advantage.
- Proficient in Ms Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- MS NAV experience would be an advantage but not essential. Committed to building on this knowledge.
