Hub Trading Company is a key business unit under the Sharjah Cooperative Society, engaged in international trading, import/export, and distribution across various sectors. As we continue to scale our operations and expand our supplier network globally, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer with a strong background in overseas procurement to join our dynamic team.
Job Purpose:
The Purchasing Officer will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of goods from international suppliers. The role requires a proactive professional who understands global trade dynamics, supplier relationship management, international logistics, and cost optimization strategies, particularly within the import/export and distribution context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate international suppliers to ensure the best combination of quality, price, and delivery terms
- Manage end-to-end overseas purchasing processes, from RFQs and price negotiations to order placement and shipment coordination
- Monitor lead times and ensure timely deliveries in collaboration with logistics and warehousing teams
- Ensure accurate documentation for all overseas purchases, including proforma invoices, purchase orders, shipping documents, and customs clearance requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers to ensure long-term collaboration and supplier performance
- Analyze purchasing trends, monitor market conditions, and recommend cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with the finance department to process supplier payments and resolve any invoicing discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with relevant international trade laws, UAE import regulations, and internal procurement policies
- Participate in vendor audits, product quality evaluations, and supplier performance reviews
