Job Summary:
Our company is looking to hire an Air & Sea Cargo Specialist to handle all tasks related to packing, sorting, labeling, and preparing shipments for both sea and air freight. The candidate must be physically fit, organized, and ready to work hands-on in a warehouse environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
🚚 Inbound Cargo
- Receive shipments arriving by sea or air
- Offload, check, and verify cargo quantity and condition against packing lists.
- Sort cargo by customer, destination, and urgency.
- Safely store goods in designated areas within the warehouse.
- Inform customers (via WhatsApp or phone) that their shipments are ready for pickup.
- Support handover of goods to pickup drivers and collect confirmation as needed.
📦 Outbound Cargo
- Collect and receive cargo from UAE-based customers (especially in Dubai).
- Sort and group cargo based on final destination.
- Pack and consolidate goods in cartons, pallets, or containers to ensure safe transport and efficient space utilization.
- Label each shipment clearly with customer name, destination, and job reference.
- Prepare cargo for container loading or air freight shipment.
- Support coordination with customs clearance agent or transporters when needed.
📦 Packaging & Sorting
- Pack goods into cartons, boxes, and pallets carefully and efficiently.
- Sort cargo by destination, shipping method, and size.
- Optimize the use of space inside cartons and shipping containers for maximum CBM efficiency.
- Use packing materials properly to prevent damage during transit.
🧾 Cargo Labeling & Documentation Support
- Label each package clearly with job references, destinations, and handling marks.
- Assist in preparing basic shipment lists or filling out cargo forms if required.
🚛 Container & Vehicle Loading
- Load and unload cargo from containers, trucks, or delivery vans.
- Ensure that cargo is safely and securely placed to prevent shifting or damage.
✈️🚢 Air & Sea Freight Support
- Help in preparing cargo for air freight or sea freight in coordination with warehouse and booking teams.
- Move cargo to the designated areas for pickup, loading, or customs inspection.
📇 Cargo Information Entry
- Assist with manual entry of cargo weights, dimensions, and box counts into Excel or forms.
- Double-check labels and carton counts against packing lists.
🧰 Warehouse Operations
- Load and unload containers, delivery trucks, and vans.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse space.
- Dispose of packing materials and waste responsibly.
- Report any missing or damaged cargo immediately.
Requirements:
- At least three years of experience in cargo handling, packing, or warehouse work.
- Must have a valid UAE Residency visa and MUST be able to obtain NOC.
- Physically fit and able to lift, move, and handle heavy boxes.
- Excellent English abilities in reading and writing is required.
- Familiar with basic cargo handling tools (trolleys, pallet jacks, strapping machines).
- Reliable, honest, and able to work under time pressure.
- Willing to work in Industrial Area 17, Sharjah.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Warehouse (not office-based).
- Working Hours: 5.5 days per week, 9 AM to 6 PM (with flexibility during peak cargo periods).
- Compensation: Based on experience (to be discussed in interview)
