Ainsley Search Group is hiring a Trade Compliance & Customs Specialist with experience in ITAR, Import and Export regulation to join a Global Manufacturing Company. This Trade Compliance and Custom Specialist will report to General Manager to support import, export licensing, trade compliance on country of origins, custom brokage at a Global and Domestic scale. This is a permanent opportunity with lucrative compensation, bonus, and benefits.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a full Global Export and Import Compliance Program for business unit and ensure alignment with corporate policy
- Serve as the subject matter expert for ITAR, export and import compliance, providing advice and guidance on export/import compliance policies and procedures, working with government agencies as required.
- Ensure that the activities of the business units comply with applicable export and import control laws and regulations, as well as requirements set for in the Export and import Compliance Program
- Leading all compliance, licensing, and governance matters, which include internal/external audits, custom brokage compliance, and compliance with policies, procedures, and government regulations
- Ensure compliance of country of origin, bill of materials, manufacturing processes, accurate marking on imported and exported goods.
- Risk management regarding anti-corruption and trade controls that may impact business process and corporate custom and trade compliance programs.
- Manage product classification process as it relates to the harmonized tariff schedule and country of origin.
- Conducts ITAR jurisdiction and classification reviews of hardware, software and technical data.
- Manage, audit all Export and import shipments which include scheduling shipments with freight forwarder, preparing the necessary paperwork requirements, and filing of required documentation
- Develop a compliance roadmap and strategic plan to continuously drive process improvement on compliance procedure, practices, further ensure proper execution of compliance policies.
Job Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree required.
- Recent years of experience working in global trade controls, import and export compliance, global custom regulations.
- Exposure to DoD, Aerospace, and related manufacturing industries.
- Expert understanding of U.S. Export and Import regulations
- Experience working with international customs and import/export control laws, experience with export licensing and compliance.
- Ability to work with cross functional teams, corporate legal, international customers, suppliers to ensure compliance with export regulations.
- Team player, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong in negotiation skill and communication skill.
- Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail and able to meet deadline with minimum supervision.
