Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a leading organisation in their search for a Logistics Supervisor to manage the onsite logistics function. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving productivity, efficiency, compliance, and team engagement within a fast-paced logistics environment.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with a continuous improvement mindset, capable of identifying opportunities to enhance supply chain processes and deliver operational excellence.
This role is based full time on site and will lead a team of 4 Logistics Coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an onsite logistics team of three, ensuring all shipping operations run effectively and in full compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Coordinate outgoing shipments to customer sites and distribution centres across domestic and international markets, ensuring timely delivery.
- Act as the key point of escalation for all shipping-related issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics processes, leveraging new technologies and methodologies.
- Partner closely with corporate supply chain and customer service teams to ensure alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day carrier and freight forwarder management, monitoring performance, building relationships, and ensuring service levels are achieved.
- Identify and implement alternative routes or transport modes to enhance flexibility and service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with all freight, customs, and cost management regulations.
- Support strategic supply chain projects to address freight constraints and optimise distribution.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing logistics team, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a logistics leadership or supervisory role with a proven track record of optimising team performance.
- Strong SAP expertise with a minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics operations.
- Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality, Compliance, and GMP principles.
- Strong systems and analytical skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive results in a fast-moving environment.
