About the Role
The Inventory & Logistics Coordinator position is a pivotal role within the renewable energy sector, focusing on the efficient management of inventory, logistics, and supply chain operations. This mid-level role is responsible for ensuring the seamless movement, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment critical to renewable energy projects. The position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of inventory management, logistics coordination, and sector-specific compliance standards. The role directly impacts project timelines, cost efficiency, and the overall success of renewable energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end movement, storage, and distribution of renewable energy equipment, components, and materials across multiple project sites and warehouses.
- Oversee inventory management processes, including tracking, auditing, and reconciling stock levels using advanced inventory management systems.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and transportation partners to schedule and monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to the transportation and storage of renewable energy materials, including customs documentation and environmental standards.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delays in project execution.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipment documentation, and logistics reports for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and field engineers to forecast material requirements and proactively address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Monitor and analyze key logistics metrics, such as lead times, transportation costs, and inventory turnover, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with health, safety, and environmental teams to ensure safe handling, storage, and transportation of all materials in accordance with industry best practices.
- Support the implementation of digital tools and automation solutions to enhance logistics and inventory management processes.
Required Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience in logistics coordination, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably within the renewable energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and logistics tracking tools.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Familiarity with customs regulations, import/export documentation, and compliance requirements relevant to the UAE and international markets.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for managing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical skills to interpret logistics data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards applicable to logistics operations in the renewable energy sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital collaboration platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or equivalent are advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in logistics or inventory coordination, with preference for experience in the renewable energy or industrial sectors.
- Strong command of English; proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset.
