Position Overview
This position supports Global Supply Chain operations in driving overall supply chain excellence. The role is responsible for overseeing logistics operations, managing supplier and stakeholder relationships, and ensuring efficient 3PL and distribution management. Responsibilities include developing and executing supply chain and logistics strategies, managing regional budgets and performance, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in logistics processes. This position plays a critical role in optimizing order fulfillment, demand management, and overall supply chain efficiency across Europe and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Operations Management
- Oversee all global logistics operations and product movements, including freight procurement.
- Facilitate timely deliveries and maintain high service levels by coordinating with Customs Services, suppliers, vendors, customers, and 3PL providers.
- Ensure efficient logistics and transportation operations, import/export processes, and trade compliance.
- Ensure GDP compliance.
3PL and Distribution Management
- Manage relationships with 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) providers.
- Continuously monitor performance, track KPIs, and resolve operational issues.
- Manage inventory levels in distribution centers (DCs) and 3PLs, analyzing KPIs to optimize stock (e.g., slow-moving items).
- Ensure GDP compliance.
Supplier and Stakeholder Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners, including the main distribution center and regional 3PLs.
- Lead operational meetings and business reviews.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to ensure cost-effective and efficient logistics solutions.
- Oversee the contract lifecycle.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Prepare and analyze logistics performance reports to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and continuous process improvement.
- Use performance and cost analytics to optimize the service-to-performance ratio.
- Ensure GDP compliance and proper delivery/storage per labeling requirements.
- Support Customs Services in effective order management and global fulfillment.
- Coordinate and analyze logistics and service complaints.
Risk Management and Issue Resolution
- Identify key supplier risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve escalated logistics and supplier performance issues in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance to team members on logistics-related challenges.
- Conduct lane characterization.
Distribution and Logistics Strategy and Execution
- Design and translate distribution and logistics strategies into actionable execution plans.
- Oversee relevant budgets, costs, and performance metrics.
