BASIC PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Customs Clerk is to:
- Customs Clearance Data Entry
- Reporting on Daily Activity
- Mailbox Management
- Customer Contact-Telephone calls
- Engage with Revenue Commissioner staff
- Understanding Revenue Compliance
- Work within a Team Environment
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- To provide administration support to all aspects of the Customs Clearance Section.
- Engage with Finance
- Customer Contact where required
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the relevant DHL policies and procedures.
- Vat & Duty reconciliation.
- Data entry to the highest standard.
- Running Daily reports
- Customer Feedback/Reporting
- Responsible for work processes that affect the success of own role and contribute to the overall performance of the department.
- Work under supervision and review with regular advice and guidance from supervisor. Check any deviations from the norm with supervisor/team leader
Key Competencies:
- PC literate plus experience of Microsoft packages (word, excel & PowerPoint)
- Previous Customs Experience is an advantage
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Team player
- Full Driving License
- Flexible with working hours
- 1-3 years of experience
- Leaving certificate or equivalent
