Seeking a Import Global Trade Compliance (US) plays a critical role in supporting Global Trade, Legal, and Supply Chain leadership by driving the execution of the company’s global trade compliance strategy. This role contributes to building a dynamic, globally aligned compliance program that enables efficient international trade while maintaining strong internal controls to mitigate regulatory risk.
Key Responsibilities
Import Compliance Management (45%)
- Support the development and enhancement of global trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to established policies and lead the implementation of necessary updates.
- Oversee the Trade Compliance Self-Testing Plan (STP), including quarterly audits and preparation of the Annual Notification Letter (ANL).
- Conduct audits of U.S. import transactions to assess compliance program effectiveness and third-party performance (e.g., customs brokers, carriers).
- Identify gaps through audit findings and implement corrective action plans.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs and compliance scorecards; present findings and risk insights to leadership.
- Manage relationships with external partners supporting trade compliance and operations.
Team Support (25%)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Trade Operations and other departments.
- Maintain and periodically update departmental Principles, Rules & Tools.
- Support development and delivery of global trade compliance training programs.
Project Management (10%)
- Drive initiatives to improve import compliance processes, reduce delays, and streamline workflows.
- Support cross-functional projects and educate stakeholders on import requirements impacting business initiatives.
Financial Management (10%)
- Identify and track cost-saving opportunities.
- Support monthly ACH reconciliation and customs reconciliation programs.

- Set annual performance goals and engage in continuous learning and cross-training.
- Contribute to succession planning and personal career development initiatives.
Role Scope & Expectations
- Operates within a global team supporting North American business activities.
- Requires up to 10% travel and occasional work outside standard business hours.
- Functions with a high degree of autonomy, managing complex projects and driving strategic initiatives.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in import trade compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Customs Broker License (preferred).
- Certifications such as Master Customs Specialist or Certified Customs Specialist (preferred).
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong expertise in import compliance, trade regulations, and global customs requirements.
