Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to take ownership of improving operational efficiency, warehouse performance, and cross-site standardization. You’ll work closely with owners, senior leadership, and managers across all warehouse locations to solve complex, urgent challenges while building long-term, scalable systems & processes.
This is both a high-pressure firefighting role and a strategic change leadership opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Logistics Optimization
- Redesign warehouse layouts for flow, efficiency, and throughput across multiple facility types
- Address infrastructure constraints
- Develop short-term triage strategies and long-term facility planning (with landlord coordination)
Process Engineering & Performance Uplift
- Conduct time and motion studies, labour planning, and identify bottlenecks.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to warehouse and order fulfilment processes
- Implement real-time, measurable process improvements to stop ongoing operational losses
ERP / WMS & Master Data Cleanup
- Lead master data clean-up efforts across product, location, and inventory fields.
- Partner with IT and operations to ensure ERP/WMS accuracy and usability
Help drive better system integration and usage across sites
- Multi-Site & Cross-Border Operations
- Standardize workflows across ROI, NI, and UK depots – including bonded and regulated goods
- Ensure cross-site visibility, coordination, and performance alignment
- Contribute to post-Brexit logistics streamlining and customs process simplification
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work directly with the company’s owners and senior leadership to prioritize and execute key initiatives.
- Support and coach warehouse managers and supervisors through change
- Influence across all levels — from shop floor teams to senior decision-makers
Technical Experience Required
Core Capabilities
- 5+ years in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics roles (preferably FMCG or 3PL).
- Expertise in warehouse design, layout optimization, and throughput improvement.
- Strong ERP/WMS knowledge — hands-on experience with master data setup and governance.
- Familiar with Lean/Six Sigma (Black belt preferred)
Data & Tools
- Confident using Excel and reporting dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience in project planning, tracking, and reporting progress to senior teams
- Ability to quantify and present ROI of operational improvements
