Assistant Manager Operations - Transportation & Logistics
Location: Mussafah, Abu Dhabi
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to support our logistics
and operations team in managing and coordinating day-to-day activities across land transport, sea,
and air shipments. This role involves direct communication with customers, team coordination, and
operational oversight to ensure timely execution of services, documentation compliance, and excellent
customer satisfaction.

We are a well-established UAE-based logistics company with extensive expertise in transportation,
warehousing, logistics, and customs clearance services. As part of our strategic expansion, we are
launching a new branch in Abu Dhabi and seeking a talented professional to lead this important
initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Coordination & Logistics Management
- Handle customer inquiries related to trucking and logistics, including quotations and special requests
- Coordinate with the internal pricing team to provide timely and accurate responses
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, transporters, equipment rental companies, and other key service providers to ensure seamless logistics operations across all service channels
Operational Support & Team Coordination
- Oversee daily logistics and office operations, support administrative tasks, and coordinate transportation activities by optimizing routing, scheduling, and overall execution.
- Follow up on vehicle registrations, permit and trade license renewals, while coordinating with internal departments to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Abu Dhabi market
- Collaborate with head office on tenders, business strategies, and key account management
- Analyze operational data to support strategic decision-making, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization, while implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure timely sharing of Proof of Delivery (POD) with customers, monitor billing, and assist the accounts team with payment follow-ups.
- Manage documentation, reporting, and compliance for all logistics activities, ensuring proper record-keeping for regulatory purposes
Qualifications & Requirements : Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with a focus on logistics and transport coordination, within the Abu Dhabi market
- In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi's business environment, regulations, and logistics landscape
- Strong understanding of transportation and warehousing, with knowledge of customs procedures and trade compliance being an advantage
- Proficiency in logistics management systems, MS Office, and relevant software tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask effectively, prioritize workload, and manage time efficiently
Education
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Shipping, or a related field; a master's degree in a related field is desirable.
- Relevant professional certifications (advantageous)
Language
- Fluent in English & Hindi; Arabic language skills highly advantageous
Working Conditions
- Office-based role with occasional visits to warehouses, quayside, government authorities, or client sites
- Flexibility in working hours may be required during urgent shipments or project handling
