Job Description:
Our client, a well-established financial services firm, is seeking an experienced Equity Trade Support Associate to join their operations team. This role is directly aligned with front-office trading and is critical in ensuring the seamless capture, processing, and settlement of equity and options transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. equity markets, clearing processes, and the trade lifecycle, with proven experience supporting traders and resolving breaks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time trade support for equity and options desks, ensuring accurate trade capture, booking, and allocation.
- Monitor and reconcile daily trade flow from execution through settlement across DTC, NSCC, and OCC.
- Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, fails, and DKs in coordination with brokers, custodians, and internal stakeholders.
- Support processing of ACATs, DWAC/DRS transactions, and corporate actions impacting equity positions.
- Reconcile positions and cash balances between DTCC and internal systems, escalating breaks as needed.
- Perform daily trade, position, and cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy of books and records.
- Act as liaison between traders, middle office, clearing firms, and back-office teams to ensure timely resolution of trade and settlement issues.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and firm policies in all operational processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in equity trade support, operations, or middle/back-office functions within a broker-dealer, bank, or clearing firm.
- Strong understanding of equity and options markets, with working knowledge of DTC/NSCC and OCC processes.
- Hands-on experience resolving trade breaks, fails, and settlement issues.
- Familiarity with corporate actions; Inteliclear experience a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems.
- Strong attention to detail, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with traders and external counterparties.
