We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operations Customs Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on customs operations and compliance management for import and export air and sea freight businesses between China and the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of our supply chain, capable of independently handling complex customs clearance issues and optimizing customs processes
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end customs operations for import and export goods on China-UK routes (air/sea freight), including but not limited to: reviewing trade documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, etc.), preparing and reviewing customs declaration and inspection documents, and submitting declarations through relevant systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in applying customs regulations, tax policies, and trade agreements (such as rules of origin between China and the UK) of both China and the UK to ensure full compliance in all operations.
- Independently handle exceptions during the China-UK customs clearance process, such as customs inspections, commodity inspections, classification disputes, and valuation negotiations, and provide rapid and effective solutions.
- Manage and coordinate relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and transportation teams in both China and the UK to ensure seamless alignment of information flow and physical logistics.
- Provide professional customs consulting services to clients and internal sales teams, including commodity classification, regulatory requirements, tax calculation, and compliance advice, to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Regularly conduct customs data analysis and process reviews, identify risk points, and propose optimization solutions to reduce costs and improve customs clearance efficiency.
- Monitor and interpret the latest changes in trade policies and regulations in China and the UK, assess their impact on business, and lead corresponding adjustments to internal processes.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in International Trade, Logistics Management, Business English, or related fields.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in customs operations within the international trade or logistics industry, with hands-on experience in handling import and export goods via air and sea freight on China-UK routes.
- Professional Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in operating systems such as China Electronic Port and Single Window. Practical experience with the UK’s CDS (Customs Declaration Service) system is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of customs procedures, import and export regulations, VAT/tariff systems, and inspection and quarantine requirements in both China and the UK.
- Strong ability in HS code classification and origin determination.
- Fluent in both Chinese and English

6、定期进行关务数据分析和流程复盘，识别风险点并提出优化方案，以降低成本、提高清关效率。
7、跟踪并解读中英两国最新的贸易政策法规变动，评估其对业务的影响，并主导内部流程的相应调整。
任职要求
1、学历与经验：大学本科及以上学历，国际贸易、物流管理、商务英语等相关专业优先。
2、3-5年国际贸易或物流行业关务相关工作经验，必须具备处理中英航线空海运进出口货物的实战经验。
3、专业知识与技能：精通中国电子口岸、单一窗口等操作系统。具备英国CDS（Customs Declaration Service）系统实际操作经验者优先考虑。
4、深入理解中国和英国的海关流程、进出口规定、VAT/关税制度及检验检疫要求。
5、具备优秀的HS编码归类能力和原产地判定能力。
6、出色的中英文书面及口语沟通能力（CET-6或同等水平以上），能够熟练与英国合作伙伴进行业务沟通和邮件往来。
