Louis Vuitton Americas is seeking a Customs & Trade Compliance Manager (Maternity Coverage). This leader will support the trade compliance program within the LV Americas Zone to ensure a strong compliance with a focus on trade and data optimization under guidance of the Sr. Manager Trade Compliance & Logistics.
Job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Customs & FWS Compliance
- Assists Sr. Manager- Trade Compliance and Logistics to ensure company compliance with Customs Laws and Regulations in the US, Canada, and St. Barth.
- Respond to queries from Brokers and Business partners with timely and accurate information to facilitate customs clearance.
- Assist in drafting response to CPBP inquiries.
- Keep up to date with all Fish and Wildlife and Environment Canada regulations to ensure smooth clearance of specialized products
Duty Drawback
- Perform reporting and follow-up activities related to duty drawback
- Organize, execute and audit drawback claims filed by broker, optimize drawback program and review data to find additional savings
Internal Audits
- Manage audits/reviews on of entries to the US, Canada, Bermuda and St. Barth.
- Perform audits of classification database
- Keep up to date on changing regulations related to classification to ensure compliance
Other
- Assist with miscellaneous special Customs related projects and exceptional flows to smooth the clearance of various department specific shipments
- Assist the Repair and After-Sales Service Center with Temporary Import Bond compliance and maintenance.
- Support domestic workshops with compliance related questions
- Manage compliance with C-TPAT and PIP Supply Chain Security programs
Profile
The ideal candidate must possess 5-7 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Supply Chain/ Logistics or related fields.
- Certifications: Valid U.S. Customs Brokers License
- Knowledge of U.S. & Canadian Customs and other agencies, especially US FWS & Environment Canada
- Progressive professional experience specifically in customs compliance within an international trade environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of all laws, rules, and regulations governing the international movement of goods and freight.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with a strong aptitude for accurate classification and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrate high initiative, manage multiple priorities effectively, and meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex regulatory information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Strong systems aptitude, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and experience with data management systems.
- Experience with SAP a plus.
The appointed candidate will be offered a salary range within USD $100,000 - $125,000.
The position requires 4 days per week on site in the Louis Vuitton Corporate Office, located in the heart of Midtown, Manhattan.
