Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Policy, the Senior Director of Trade Policy will lead the development and advancement of ITI policy positions and execution of advocacy strategy for trade, investment, supply chain resiliency, and other international economic policy issues. In this role, they will partner with ITI member companies, colleagues, and other stakeholders around the world to lead advocacy for ITI members’ ability to access markets, navigate laws and regulations, and innovate globally.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and advance ITI’s policy agenda to promote a better trade environment for the global technology industry and to address specific trade barriers, including on tariffs, standards-related and other regulatory barriers to trade, through trade agreements, and other government-to-government engagements.
- Provide updates and analysis to ITI member companies, colleagues, and other stakeholders on bilateral and multilateral trade efforts, tariffs, digital trade, and other commercially meaningful topics.
- Draft fact sheets, position papers, comment submissions, letters, and other written materials for members and policymakers, including responses to ITI member inquiries.
- Represent ITI in press engagement and public events to raise ITI’s profile on trade and advance ITI’s trade policy priorities.
- Lead trade-related engagement with third-party entities (e.g., trade associations, think tanks, etc.)
- Supervise a part-time Policy Fellow to support ITI’s trade and tech policy work, as appropriate.
- Cultivate and maintain constructive relationships with relevant U.S. and foreign government officials and other stakeholders to enhance advocacy and information gathering efforts.
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of seven years of experience developing and implementing successful trade policy strategies (through positions in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, U.S. Department of Commerce, trade policy staff or committees of the U.S. Congress or the private sector, and/or comparable positions in other economies)
- Demonstrated experience with key policy affecting trade in the tech sector issues (e.g., supply chain resiliency, tariffs, and protectionist barriers to trade)
- Broad network of trade and economic policy-related contacts, in the United States and multiple additional jurisdictions
- International experience, including cultural sensitivity and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with non-native English speakers

Pay range: $190,000 – 200,000
