Role Overview
We are hiring preferably a Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA to lead and support large-scale tax technology and e-invoicing transformation programs for enterprise clients. This role is primarily accountable for GAP analysis, business requirement discovery, and ensuring compliant solution delivery across indirect tax domains. The successful candidate will operate as the single-threaded owner for aligning tax, finance, and technology stakeholders and driving standardization, governance, and risk mitigation across multi-geo implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Technology Program Leadership
- Lead and advise on implementations spanning ERP tax design, e-invoicing, tax engines, and automation tools for large enterprises.
- Drive solution blueprinting and functional governance across end-to-end invoicing and indirect tax workflows.
- GAP Analysis & Target Operating Model
- Own comprehensive GAP analysis across process, controls, data, and systems to meet e-invoicing and indirect tax compliance requirements.
- Define target-state process standardization and operating controls to improve auditability and reduce compliance risk.
- Client Workshops & Requirement Discovery
- Conduct client meetings/workshops to understand business and domain requirements across tax, finance, and operations.
- Translate requirements into clear functional specs (BRD/FRD), process maps, user stories, validation rules, and test scenarios.
- Domain Support to Technology Teams
- Provide hands-on domain support to internal product/engineering teams through build/configuration, integrations, SIT/UAT, and go-live.
- Act as a decision partner for handling exceptions, edge cases, document types, reconciliation logic, and reporting requirements.
- Compliance, Risk & Governance
- Ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and control standardization across geographies and business units.
- Create implementation playbooks and governance mechanisms for change control, audit trails, and operational readiness.
- Audit, Assessments & Strategic Initiatives
- Support audits, assessments, and management reviews by preparing documentation, control narratives, reconciliations, and evidence packs.
- Contribute to strategic tax planning initiatives by identifying automation opportunities and improving compliance posture.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (mandatory).
- Strong domain expertise in UAE VAT and invoicing processes; hands-on exposure to compliance-driven implementations.
- Working knowledge of Indian GST and an understanding of broader global indirect tax constructs (VAT/sales tax/customs).
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and finance process flows (O2C, P2P, intercompany).
- Demonstrated experience in TaxTech / technology implementation environments with integration, data mapping, testing, and controls.
