We’re looking for a Customs Specialist to join our Logistics & Customs team — shaping compliant, efficient, customer‑focused solutions for material handling equipment, parts, and accessories.

🔍 What You’ll Do
- Ensure all import/export activities comply with UK customs laws, HMRC rules and trade agreements
- Prepare and submit customs declarations via HMRC CDS
- Manage and close Transit Documents (T1s)
- Audit customs declarations, shipping docs, invoices and certificates
- Apply correct HS codes and duty rates for all imports
- Calculate and record duties, VAT and customs charges
- Liaise with freight forwarders, logistics partners, suppliers and internal teams
- Maintain accurate, auditable customs records and reconcile MSS data
- Resolve customs queries quickly to minimise delays
- Monitor changes in UK/EU customs legislation and drive process improvements
đź’ˇ What You Bring
- IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Understanding of Customs and Freight Management processes
- Experience with Customs Clearance using the CDS system (import & export)
- Ability to prepare reports for analytical and audit purposes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organisational levels
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and solution‑focused
- Experience in Finance, Customs, or Freight Forwarding
- Hybrid role: mix of Milton Keynes office and home working; occasional travel to Warrington; regular Teams interaction
- Previous experience in Customs documentation processes
- Familiarity with Customs Declaration Management software
- SAP knowledge is an advantage
