About the roleThis is a senior level role which is responsible for cargo operations in Dublin. The scope of this role includes management of the self-handled operations in Dublin as well as third party suppliers in both warehousing and transportation logistics across Ireland.
This role requires a strategic leader who can optimise operational performance, and be accountable for the definition, sponsorship and delivery of the IAG Cargo strategy and transformation plans in Dublin.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute a clear, long-term strategy for the operations in Ireland, aligned with the company’s global vision and in collaboration with the COO.
- Ensure seamless operational performance, consistently meeting key performance indicators and service level agreements.
- Drive operational resilience through continuous improvement and adaptation to industry best practices.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety, Security, Customs, GDP, Labour Law, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
- Act as the company’s key liaison with UK governmental entities, airport authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead transformation initiatives to modernise operations. Procurement and supplier management of Ground Handling Agents to consistent service levels.
- Ensure compliance with all IAG Carrier Ground Operations Manuals.
- Ensure compliance with audits, including self-audit and separate cargo, corporate and regulatory audit.
- Maintain & improve Cargo IQ performance of all flights and truck services.
- Oversight of all customer support activities for Group flights and ensure smooth processes and relationships with all IAGC Hubs.
- Provide on-the ground support and escalation to the sales team in Ireland and be available to represent IAG Cargo to customers in Ireland.
- Champion the interests of IAG Cargo within Aer Lingus to ensure the needs of the division are met and supported.
- Manage the needs of staff and trade unions.
- Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing leadership team, fostering accountability and growth.
- Drive a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation across all levels of the operation.
- Drive third party handling revenues, be responsible for any review of handling charges.
- Ensure consistently high customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and operational reliability.
- Build and nurture relationships with key customers and stakeholders, acting as a trusted strategic partner.
- Champion a customer-first mindset across all operational teams.
- Drive financial performance, ensuring cost efficiency and revenue optimisation.
- Oversee and manage the P&L responsibilities for the operations in Ireland, balancing strategic investments with fiscal discipline.
- Identify and exploit opportunities for revenue growth and operational cost savings.

- Quality Focus: Proven ability to implement and oversee Quality Management Systems aligned with ISO, GDP, and industry standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of compliance requirements in highly regulated industries.
