Conaty Food and Catering Supplies are one of Ireland's leading catering suppliers to the hospitality industry. Our customers are hotels, bars and restaurants and our products include food and catering hardware products such as glassware, crockery and cutlery. We are seeking to recruit a proactive and experienced Logistics Manager for our Transport Department to lead and oversee our delivery operations. This role holds full responsibility for managing and optimising the day-to-day transport activities for our business, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to our customers via trucks and vans.
You will lead a team of drivers and transport coordinators, managing high-volume deliveries picked in our warehouse and scheduled across a six-day working week (Monday to Saturday).
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily van and truck deliveries to customers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Route Planning: Develop and manage efficient delivery routes, optimising for cost, time, and fuel efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of drivers and transport co-ordinators to achieve high performance and excellent service.
- Staff Scheduling: Organise driver shifts and workloads to ensure full delivery coverage and compliance with working time regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement new processes, systems, and ideas to streamline operations and improve service levels.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transport operations comply with legal, safety, and company standards, including vehicle maintenance and driver checks.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on delivery KPIs, driver performance, and route efficiency.
- Communication: Act as the central point of communication between warehouse, transport, and customer service teams to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transport or logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations including vans and trucks.
- Excellent route planning and scheduling skills, including the use of transport planning software.
- Effective leadership and people management skills with experience managing teams.
- Ability to manage high volumes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Valid B driving licence
