Job Summary
The Exports Head will oversee Ajmal Perfumes’ international sales operations, focusing on developing, managing, and expanding export markets. This role involves ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, optimizing sales performance, building strong relationships with distributors and clients, and driving brand growth globally. The Exports Head will also play a key role in achieving revenue and profitability targets, while maintaining the company’s high standards of customer service and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Market Development
• Develop and execute the export sales strategy to meet business objectives.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in untapped markets, across the globe.
• Conduct market research to analyze global trends, competition, and customer behavior, providing actionable insights.
• Create country-specific business development plans to expand market presence.
2. Sales and Revenue Management
• Achieve export sales targets and ensure profitability across international markets.
• Manage pricing strategies, product mix, and promotions for export regions.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to align product launches and campaigns with market-specific requirements.
• Develop sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals.
3. P&L Responsibility
• Manage and oversee the Profit & Loss (P&L) for all export operations, ensuring alignment with Ajmal Perfumes' global financial goals and strategies.
• Develop and implement budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to drive growth in international markets while maintaining cost control and maximizing profitability.
• Monitor and analyze export performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient resource allocation and financial performance within the export business unit.
4. Client and Distributor Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, partners, and key accounts.
• Build and nurture relationships with overseas buyers, distributors, and strategic partners to expand the brand’s global footprint.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with clients and distributors.
• Ensure timely delivery of products and resolve customer queries effectively.
• Monitor distributor performance and market dynamics to adapt strategies for optimal results.
5. Operational Excellence
• Coordinate with production, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
• Monitor inventory levels to meet export demand without overstocking or shortages.
6. Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure adherence to all international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
• Manage export compliance, including customs, shipping logistics, and documentation requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with currency fluctuations, political changes, and trade restrictions.
7. Performance Tracking and Reporting
• Analyze sales data to measure performance against KPIs and identify improvement areas.
• Prepare export budgets, manage resources effectively, and deliver regular performance and market reports.
• Prepare regular reports on export sales performance, market trends, and strategic insights for senior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field.
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.
Experience
• Minimum 15 years of experience in export management or international sales, preferably in the fragrance, cosmetics, or luxury goods sector.
• Proven track record of achieving sales growth and expanding into new markets.
• Experience managing distributors, agents, and B2B relationships across diverse regions.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping logistics, and customs processes.
• Strong knowledge of GCC, Latin American, and European markets.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
