Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator (Intermodal) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating deliveries, liaising with customers and hauliers, booking units according to customer requests, tracking deliveries, controlling payments, and ensuring customs clearance for non-EU shipments.
We believe the successful Transport Coordinator should have the following skills:
- Proven track record in customer service
- Haulage planning and customs clearance experience
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- High level of computer literacy, with good working knowledge of current Microsoft applications
- Good geographical awareness
The key tasks for the Transport Coordinator are as follows:
- Coordinate Deliveries: Manage and oversee the movement of cargo containers by trucks.
- Liaise with Customers and Hauliers: Act as the primary point of contact for customers and hauliers, ensuring clear and effective communication regarding booking requests and delivery schedules.
- Booking Units: Schedule and book units according to customer booking requests, ensuring all details are accurately recorded and communicated.
- Track Deliveries: Monitor the progress of deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of cargo to customers. Address any issues that arise during the transportation process.
- Control Payments: Manage and control payments related to transportation services, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
- Customs Clearance: Ensure that all necessary customs clearance is obtained for non-EU shipments, coordinating with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Liaise with the import, export, and finance department with respect to customs clearance and haulage matters.
- Ad-hoc duties as may be required by the Intermodal Transport Manager.
