Scope
We are looking for a Contract Logistics & Overland Transportation Director to support and execute our growth in the Middle East and Africa region. This role will focus on implementing and executing warehousing and transportation projects, coordinating with sub-contractors and carriers, and delivering cost-effective logistics solutions. The position requires strong operational and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to managing daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate sub-contractors and overland carriers to meet operational and customer requirements.
- Coordinate and manage sub-contractors and carriers on service performance, compliance, and cost control.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new warehouse opportunities, including market research and cost-benefit analysis.
- Develop and maintain cost models for both warehousing and overland transportation to support solution design, pricing, and decision-making.
- Prepare detailed commercial offers and quotations for customers in collaboration with the sales team.
- Support tender processes with accurate data, layouts, routing options, and cost assumptions.
- Monitor operational KPIs for warehousing and transportation to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of investment proposals for new sites and expansions.
- Work closely with regional teams to align processes and share best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in contract logistics, warehousing, and overland transportation execution.
- 5+ years of team management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in carrier and sub-contractor management, cost modeling, and pricing preparation.
- Strong analytical, commercial and numerical skills with the ability to prepare detailed models and business cases.
- Hands-on approach with strong execution focus; comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Middle East logistics and transportation markets, providers and regulations is preferred.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within the Middle East and Africa.
