About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading global manufacturer serving aerospace and other highly regulated industries. This organization operates multiple U.S. manufacturing facilities and maintains a strong commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
They are seeking an experienced Deputy Director of Global Trade Compliance to support and oversee trade compliance activities across several U.S. manufacturing sites. This is a high-impact, remote leadership role within a complex, multi-plant environment.
Position Overview
The Deputy Director, Global Trade Compliance will report to the senior compliance leader for the division and play a critical role in ensuring adherence to U.S. export and import regulations across multiple facilities.
This individual will serve as a subject matter expert and key resource for plant-level trade compliance personnel, providing guidance on complex import/export transactions, licensing requirements, classifications, and regulatory interpretation.
The role requires deep experience with ITAR, EAR, Customs regulations, and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support multiple U.S. manufacturing plants to ensure full compliance across import and export operations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to site-level trade compliance staff on complex transactions and classifications
- Prepare and submit export license applications through DECCS and SNAP-R in accordance with ITAR and EAR requirements
- Evaluate export transactions to determine licensing and authorization requirements
- Potentially serve as an Empowered Official with authority to make export compliance determinations
- Conduct and support internal trade compliance audits across facilities
- Drive corrective actions and partner with plant leadership to resolve non-compliance findings
- Oversee EEI filings within ACE and run compliance reports to monitor activity
- Support development and maintenance of standardized trade compliance procedures and best practices
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to internal processes
- Partner with senior compliance leadership on strategic initiatives and cross-division projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of trade compliance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, Customs regulations, and OFAC
- Hands-on experience with ACE (EEI filings and reporting)
- Direct experience preparing export license applications in DECCS and SNAP-R
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations
- Experience serving as (or eligible to serve as) an Empowered Official
- Background in internal audits, compliance investigations, and corrective action management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations to cross-functional stakeholders
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive

- Experience overseeing trade compliance across multiple plants or business units
- Exposure to global trade compliance programs and multinational operations
