Overview
The Associate Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for identifying and maintaining commercial relationships with logistics service providers, and for initiating and coordinating shipments to support the project sites and fabrication shops with focus on best service, price and terms. This position is a Professional role which reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager for the EMEA region and routinely interacts with Supply Chain, Operations, Accounting, and Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate regional logistics activities for EPC projects across GCC countries
- Assist in the planning and execution of shipments for project materials and heavy equipment, including road, sea, and air transport.
- Track and monitor shipment progress, report delays or issues to the Logistics Manager and stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain shipping and customs documentation in compliance with local regulations (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, delivery notes, clearance paperwork).
- Liaise with freight forwarders, transport providers, and customs brokers across the GCC.
- Ensure adherence to Incoterms, import/export requirements, and HSE guidelines during transport.
- Support coordination with procurement, warehousing, and construction teams to align logistics with project timelines.
- Maintain logistics records and update relevant ERP and reporting systems.
- Assist with vendor coordination and logistics cost tracking for regional deliveries.
Qualifications
- Experience working on multi-country logistics projects within the GCC.
- Exposure to vendor and freight forwarder performance management.
- Understanding of GCC customs regulations and cross-border logistics.
- Basic knowledge of Incoterms, shipping methods, and international trade compliance.
- Strong coordination and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE, Oracle) is a plus.
- Min 2 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations, ideally within EPC, construction, or industrial projects.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with logistics documentation for oversized or hazardous cargo.
- Experience working on multi-country logistics projects within the GCC.
- Exposure to vendor and freight forwarder performance management.
