Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Sea Freight Coordinator to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Sea Freight Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating ocean freight shipments to ensure they reach their destinations efficiently and on time. You will interact with customers, shipping lines, and various internal departments to streamline shipment processes. Responsibilities
- Coordinate sea freight shipments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Communicate effectively with clients, shipping lines, and internal departments to manage expectations and resolve issues.
- Prepare and process necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
- Monitor shipment schedules and track shipments to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Negotiate rates with shipping lines and freight forwarders to maintain cost-effective shipping solutions.
- Handle allocation and booking of freight space as per customer requirements and shipping line availability.
- Maintain updated records of all sea freight operations and transactions in the system.
- Analyze and optimize sea freight processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and shipment concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on shipment activities and performance metrics for management review.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote seamless logistics operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sea freight coordination or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and international trade regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics software, Microsoft Office, and shipment tracking tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handle shipment challenges.
