Join our dynamic team as an Officer in Cargo Operations, where your role will be crucial in managing the shipment and logistics activities for our air freight division. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all cargo activities, ensuring compliance with international regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of cargo handling to ensure efficient workflow.
- Coordinate with airlines and ground handlers to confirm cargo bookings and arrangements.
- Ensure all cargo is shipped in compliance with international regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and update the database regularly.
- Supervise loading and unloading processes to guarantee proper handling of cargo.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly to enhance client satisfaction.
- Liaise with customs officials to expedite clearance and documentation processes.
- Monitor cargo capacity and space availability to optimize operations.
- Conduct inspections of cargo for damage, discrepancies, or inaccuracies.
- Prepare and review necessary documentation such as air waybills and invoices.
- Implement safety and security procedures in cargo operations consistently.
- Work collaboratively with the logistics team to streamline transport efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in cargo operations or equivalent logistics role.
- Strong understanding of international air freight and cargo handling procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using cargo management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
