Your new role
Overall responsibility for the daily operations and financial performance of the Air & Sea Branch. This includes overseeing all aspects of Air & Sea operations, customer service, procurement, carrier relationships, compliance, sales support, staff management, and ensuring the delivery of branch financial targets.
- Oversee all operational activity for Air & Sea products within the branch, ensuring service excellence and adherence to global standards.
- Ensure full compliance with SOPs, product guidelines, customs requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, co-loaders, service providers, and internal product teams.
- Lead the execution of departmental KPIs and operational targets, including On-Time Performance, File Quality, Gross Profit, Cost Control, Job Closure Discipline, and Days to Invoice.
- Develop short-, mid-, and long-term operational strategies to support growth plans for both air and sea products.
- Manage the financial performance of the branch, ensuring revenue optimisation, cost control, and achievement of profitability targets.
- Conduct performance reviews, develop staff capabilities, and ensure adequate workforce planning.
- Support business growth by preparing commercial input for RFQs and assisting the sales team with operational insights and pricing structures.
- Work closely with Sales and Key Account Management (KAM) to deliver commercial objectives.
- Collaborate with Air and Ocean Product teams to enhance service offerings and customer satisfaction.
What you'll need to succeed
- Significant management experience within Air and/or Sea Freight operations.
- Strong understanding of international supply chain processes (from booking to final delivery).
- Knowledge of customs regulations, carrier procurement, freight rate structures, and global trade compliance.
- Experience managing P&L, budgeting, and financial KPIs.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
